Bringing intention to Valentine's Day

We keep Valentine's Day pretty simple in our house. It gives us an excuse for a special date night in. Cody usually brings home flowers, and I test my baking skills on a new dessert recipe.

Are you looking for a thoughtful way to celebrate this year? Here are some of our favorites:

💕 Create a photo book: This is a thoughtful and creative gift for anyone you love. Cody started the tradition of an annual photo book the first year we dated, and we've kept the tradition alive for the last 13 years! It's so fun to look back on all the adventures we've had together. Photo books don't have to be for a significant other, it's also a great gift for a parent, grandparent, or best friend.

💕 Date Night (or Girl's night!) In: Valentine's Day doesn't have to be celebrated with an expensive night out. A date night in can feel even more special. Set the table ahead of time with candles, fun glasses, a little vase of flowers, and prep your favorite dinner (or order take out!)

💕 Write a Letter (or two!): Sometimes the best gifts are free. A hand written letter gives us a chance to slow down and share some kind words that might not otherwise get said enough! A perfect gift for a spouse or for your group of besties.

💕 Make something homemade: I love to bake, so my gift to Cody most years for Valentine's Day is a special dessert. Some favorites over the years have been:

🧁 Raspberry white chocolate cheesecake

🧁 White chocolate creme brûlée

🧁 Chocolate soufflé
