Creating the cozy fall scenes you see in the movies

Do you ever crave those cozy fall scenes that you see on TV or in the movies? I've learned that the secret to giving your home that warm and welcoming feel is about invoking all five senses.

Here's how I'm using all five senses to create a fall cozy night in:

Smell: This one is easy. Light up your favorite fall candle (my pick is Homebody Harvest by Joy Lane Farm). Layer on the warm smells by baking a pie or some cookies.

Taste: A hearty soup and a crusty loaf of bread seem like the perfect meal for your cozy night! Skip the grocery store bread and splurge for a bakery loaf. Finish off your meal with a pumpkin or peach themed dessert. You won't regret it.

Touch: You don't want any shortage of soft pillows and blankets on your cozy night in. Layer the couch with throw blankets and extra pillows. The buttery soft Barefoot Dreams blankets are my personal pick.

Sight: Skip the overhead lights and turn on a few dim table lamps. Light your fireplace if you have one, or turn on a heartwarming TV show or movie (Gilmore Girls, anyone?)

Hearing: The sound of soft music, the crackle of the fire, or your cozy movie of choice will always add to the coziness of your home. Don't have a fireplace but love the sound of a crackling fire? Try a wood wick candle or playing a fireplace scene on your TV.
