Loose leaf tea...but make it iced

Cody and I love an after dinner tea during the fall and winter months. To be honest, I’m a tea lover all year long. I love to have the summer equivalent on these hot, hazy evenings. My mom taught me how to make sun tea a few years ago, during a Florida visit. She is the master of mixing and matching tea to create her own flavors. Try any combination of Hibiscus Berry, Midsummer Daydream, Summer Blues, or Life's a Peach. Different blends create any variety of colors and vibrant fruity flavors.

Just combine loose leaf tea and room temperature water in a glass pitcher according to the ratios on the package. Place the glass pitcher on a sunny windowsill or on your front porch and let the sun do its magic (about 3-4 hours). Strain out the loose-leaf tea and add lots of ice.

A refreshing glass of iced tea wouldn’t be complete without a fun garnish. Try a sprig of fresh mint, rosemary or lemon balm. Of course, a wedge of lemon or orange is always a must.

P.S. 27 Teas just released a new flavor called Crimson Queen. I bought some to try myself and I’ll let you know how I like it. It’s a great blend of hibiscus, orange peel, rooibos, elderberry, and apple pieces. Maybe I’ll try a garnish of lemon to contrast the crimson color.
